The CIT program was designed to help older children master the art of the social world by helping our younger social group participants. The theory behind this program is based on the idea that you LEARN more when you EXPERIENCE something and TEACH something to others.
The CITs are involved in the daily camp activities such as planning and executing activities, coordinating games, assisting campers with appropriate social skills, modeling appropriate social skills (eye contact, turn taking, asking and answering questions, good sportsmanship, following directions, learning rules for game play, etc.) and problem solving with campers and other CITs.
CITs will also be responsible for helping instructors set up and break down camp materials daily which will give them some pre-vocational experience. Volunteer hours can be arrange if need for school requirements.
Fees for CITs will be 50% of the regular cost of camp since the amount of intervention will be less than required by campers. All fees are due prior to the start of camp.
CITs MUST have been formerly or currently enrolled in our program OR have an interview prior to beginning. To apply for the CIT program, please contact us for an appointment at firstname.lastname@example.org . If you have any questions or concerns contact us at 757-422-6342 or email@example.com.
